9 months old

Mason turned 9 months old on Friday!
He won't have his 9 month check-up until June 7
because I guess his doctor needed a vacation next week.

Mason has been loving this small tool bench!
I probably purchased this about 7 years ago at a garage sale!
(Step 2 brand)
So glad I did. Its held up great and he's learning his carpenter skills!
(this momma is hoping he likes to build things and maybe just maybe becomes a carpenter).

When that day comes for him to get serious with carpentery
I think I may have to teach him not to put the tools or bolts in his mouth!

This little guy has been so much fun to have in our
Wynn family for the last 9 months.
I can't believe how big he has gotten.
He loves to sit up now so he can see everyone!
He is also starting to like the big kid toys too.
They are more fun!

I just love love love this little guy so much.

Potty Training 101

Yikes, what did I get myself into was my thaught after about 4 hours on Wednesday!

After reading some information some other child care providers talked about I decided to go to this link. At that link it talked about a book you can purchase/ download and it would give you all the information you needed to have your child potty trained in 3 days. Yes, I said 3 days.

So I got a hold of a copy of the book (thank you friend)! I read it. I yelled at the book for making me read 40 pages of stuff when I felt the book could be maybe 20 pages (I am not much of a reader).

So Wednesday we started.

There were alot of little undies ready.

There were lots of accidents.

There was lots of laundry after those accidents.

Maddison and I stuck to it and today is day 4. Yes, its a 3 day thing when reading the book but seriously some kids might need longer. But my Maddison had never even gone for me on the potty and on day one she went pee! On day 4 she went poopy! Lastnight she slept all night in undies and woke up dry! She came to me when she had to go potty this morning!

I was so proud of her after she went poopy today. I went to the store to get her a surprise (gotta love the dollar store)!

In the book they tell you to toss all the diapers. Well I am sorry but she did wear a pull-up today so we could go to some garage sales and to the park. Trust me it was needed. I had been stuck at home all week. I had to get out today or I was going to have a serious case of the crabbies.

The kids love to swing!

Snack at the park!

Oh and most of you who know Maddison really well know that she
LOVES LOVES LOVES to sit on the couch, usually in one of the corners.
She will get mad at people who sit in her spot.
(yeah she tries to be boss around here)
Good news is she never went potty on the couch!
She did however have an accident on the little play one which is ok.
It was dirty and I wanted a reason to get rid of it!
After her accident I had a very good reason and not one
of the kids have even noticed its gone.

FYI

FYI
I am going to be spending alot of time in the next few days with this little girl!
We'll be spending alot of time together in the bathroom.

Since the diapers are gone I am sure we'll be using alot of toilet paper.
Oh how I wish my bathroom was pretty since we'll be in there most of the time.

But just so that you know we might of had some wet undies this morning

but thats ok because after pair number 4 my little big girl went on the potty for the very first time!

I was one proud Momma!
So with all that said.
I am signing off now.
I might be MIA (missing in action) for a few days!

Ok fine you can find me in the bathroom if you really need me!

Bits and pieces

Saturday morning the kids and I got up and got ready to leave town. The Hubs was already gone to work for some manditory overtime... we love these days but at times we dislike them too. Mandiroty means he has to work from 6am-2pm. When they have voluntery overtime he can leave at 10am if we have plans for the day.

Anyways, Hubby was working. I got all 4 of the kids ready and into the van at 8:58am. I was proud of myself since 9am was my goal! We headed out and stopped at a few garage sales. Didn't really get any deals worth sharing or anything to get real excited about. Then we headed out of town. We had a 2 hour dirve ahead of us. I haven't ever driven more than about an hour alone with the kids but it went well.

We went and had lunch with one of my aunts and my 3 cousins. It was a good lunch and a great visit. I hadn't seen my aunt since Maddison was a baby.

After lunch we back tracked a bit and went to my unlces house for a visit. Another great visit and some yummy chocolate cake. The girls enjoyed seeing horses and cats! Oh and some family too!

After that visit we headed home. Another 2 hours in the van. They girls and Mason did really well though. Both little ones slept all the way home and the big girls watched Lassie (garage sale item) on the portable DVD player.

While we had been gone the hubs worked in the yard and enjoyed Taco Bell! He finished my border around my daycare sign and also got the sign cemented in!

My wonderful Husband, Danny finished
the border and layed the plastic!

On Sunday we spent most of the day outside working and slaving away. I planted flowers and tried to watch the kids at the same time! The big girls, well they tried to pick some rock but it was just so hot. So we finally got the little pool out and filled it up with water! Danny tried to work on getting our new railing done. Things didn't go so well with that. The materials costed us double what we first estimated so we were not overly excited about that. We had purchased some spindles that are supposed to slide into a board on top and a board on the bottom. He got the bottom but then couldn't get the top to fit. Not sure if its just us or if we got a bad board. So our railing isn't done yet.

We have been recycling small rock. There was rock hidden in the weeds and bushes along the house when we bought it from a previous owner. We have been slowly picking the rock and getting it in place where we want it. My sister and dad helped us move alot of it along the side of the house when we first moved in. We moved it and then layed plastic and put the rock back on top! So now for the area around the sign the rock is coming from the front of the house where we're working on the steps. It has been alot of work but it was saved us alot of money. We have purchased a few bags of rock to add to the side of the house. As you can probably see in the picture we still need to add more rock to this area.

Sometimes I just wish I had enough money to hire out jobs like this.
Oh well it will get done at some point!

Mason did his best being helpful! He had to go inside a few times because it was just so hot out. He did not like when I tried putting him in the pool so he watched his big sisters instead.
Yes, Jade should have a bigger pool!

Abby being goofy and Maddison playing in the water table!

Braids!

Now that braids seem to be back in style I wanted to be
able to braid the girls hair.
Of course they have reminded me that Aunty T can braid.
(My aunt who used to feed me M&M's and call them happy pills)!

Anyways, with alittle bit of practise and some concentration
I mastered a braid!

Then of course we needed to add some color!

I was pretty proud of myself!

Front yard!

When we bought our home it looked like this!
The first thing my sister said to me was
"You need to work on that landscaping,
those bushes need to go".
Well if you remember we bought our home in June of 2008!
This is what it looks like today-
Do you notice a difference?
The shrubs are gone... Thank you sister!
Moved those July 4, 2008!
On a very hot hot day!
We got a new front door!
Now we are finally moving some brick!
The brick was never in the greatest of shape
as its probably over 30 years old.
Now we don't have a truck or trailer and we actually
just finally bought a wheelbarrow this week!
So what to do with the brick?

Well I placed some here on my own before we bought the wheelbarrow!
Then I listed them on craigslist for FREE.
Someone came and got them!

Then I did another pile about the same size and
another guy came and got those!
He made sure to knock and ask if he could really have them.
He said he wanted to make sure my neighbors didn't place the ad as a joke!

Brick is almost gone! I am so happy
because on Sunday I am going to learn how to use
a HAMMER DRILL
to make a new railing for my steps.
Will be renting it from our local Home Depot at 10am.

I am on a time line here. Railing must be up before my
daycare licensor comes to visit this summer!
Oh and before my hubby has surgery on June 22.
(we do not use this door but it still needs to be done)

Then you ask what I am going to do after that-

Well I am going to fix this hole I started making in the ground for my daycare sign!

There will be a pretty border around the hole
and some flowers to add come color!

We have alot of projects going on right now and they are all half done!
Hope to have them all done by 2012!
 HA HA

PS. Still waiting for a sheetrocker! Will feed you beer
(or soda, tea, lemonade) and food in return!
Oh and some darn good company!

I guess my hubby falling and hurting his wrist in our yard wasn't the brightest idea.
Its sure slowing down this work that needs to be done.
Oh and they say 4 weeks to recover after surgery.
Yikes. That might make for a whole other post!

Side yard pictures coming soon!

A baby is born!

Maybe some of you remember me telling you about the first blog I ever read. Well if you remember me saying Angie who writes that blog was expecting a baby in June. Well after some health issues came about Angie was sceduled to have her baby this Saturday. Well low and behold that baby ended up coming yesterday! I just love when babies are born! She had her baby girl, Charlotte! Oh and to share a birthday! How cool is that?!?!

Like I said I just love to hear when a baby is born so I wanted to share that with you.

Another Hot Deal!

Like I have said before I am always looking for a good deal.

This time I got a free deal!

Look at this nice looking rug!

I followed my mother into her garage a couple weeks ago and noticed this rug. It was all rolled up on top of a pile of popcans bagged to go to the recycling bin!

Seriously who would toss such a nice rug?

Well I will tell you.
My brother brought this home from WY. He needed it when he first moved. But since moving out of state he has given up living alone in a 2 bedroom home to sharing a place with his buddy. What a great way to save money on rent when you share a home with a buddy. That way you can afford to toss out nice things for others!

At some point I hope to have this nice almost new rug in my basement family room! It actually matches too!

Playing at the Park!

We went to the park lastnight after supper.
The kids had tons of fun.
It was nice because we were the only ones there!
Hubby took all these pictures and I edited them, no need for me to be in them!

There was a first...

The first blog I ever read was Bring the Rain, the stroy of Audrey Caroline.

I started reading her blog and I cried. Oh boy did I cry. I still cry sometimes thinking about it.

This blog is written by a mother who has had to except the fact that God was going to take her baby girl to be with him right after birth.

The reason I am sharing this with you is she has written a book about her story. The picture on the cover of the book is her baby girl, Audrey Caroline while she is holding her. If you love to read and are looking for a story that is real, emotional and inspiring, full of grief you might want to check it out. Here is a link to a brief statement on the book.  There is also a link there you can use if you want to purchase the book.

Angie is a very remarkable women!
She has 3 girls at home right now with her and guess what?
She's having another baby.
She is due in June!
The doctors tell her its ANOTHER GIRL!

"Life is not about waiting
for the storm to pass...

It's about learning to dance in the rain!"
-vivian greene-

Here is a video and song that both Angie and todd wrote.
Do not watch this if you are work, you will cry.

What was the first blog you ever read???

What's cookin?

A good batch of M&M Cookies were made this week.

They tasted so yummy!
Some of them are even on there way to WY!
Well as long as the mailman don't eat them first.

I also made Veggie pizza this week for lunch.
Not a big hit with the kiddos. Most just took a few nibbles of it.
Gotta try something new once in awhile.
I liked it!
(I just used carrots and broc. for my veggies so it wasn't an over load for the kids).
