We are Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Today I asked my family what they are thankful for.

The Dancer is thankful for her Great Grandma who is in the nursing home.

Rose is thankful for her play food, Daddy, Cute Momma, Sweet Baby Girl, The Dancer, and her Great Grandma.

Hubby is thankful for his Wife and his Children.

There are so many things we should be thankful for. God wants us to be thankful for everything even the things that in some way hurt us or give us pain. This year I am especially thankful for my children and my husband.

No chapstick in the Wynn house

Lastnight I had a training to attend from 6pm-9pm. Not overly excited about being gone all evening but I need the training hours so I had to go. At 5:15 the pizza was in the oven for supper and I decided to use my time wisely. I figured if I get the clothes out of the dryer and bring them upstairs maybe the laundry fairy would stop over and fold them before I got home. I needed to get the washer clothes in the dryer since I was on my last pair of clean socks! I went downstairs and I barely had the dryer door opened I screamed. I have never screamed so loud. Hubby thought I got hurt and came running. No I wasn't hurt but my clothes were. Some little girl left purple chap stick in their pocket. Oh I was not a happy person considering my hubby and I do not have many clothes. We wear the same thing over and over and over again allowing our children to have all the nice clothes. Both my hubby and I now have jeans with purple spots on them! Maybe we'll start a new trend and wear them to Thanksgiving!

So you are maybe wondering what happened. I came upstairs and had the girls put all the chap stick on the table. Now this is NOT the first time chap stick has gone through the wash. I am sure it won't be the last either. I took all the chap stick and tossed in the garbage. Rose looked at her dad and sadly said "She threw it all away". So what does hubby do. Oh he takes it out and lets them each pick one to keep. Oh them I was more angry. I'll remember that the next time he punishes them and I will go behind him and undo it.

By then it was time to go to my meeting. The whole time I was gone I felt terrible how I had left with the girls being mad at me. I got home to find them in bed and the spotted clothes still sitting where I left them. I tried spraying stain remover on them and washing them over. Some of them are still spotted.

And yes, maybe I over reacted. But we all do that at times.

Taxes

Yes, we all love taxes. I was sitting on the floor with about 100 sales slips, grocery recipts, utility bills, and bank statements. Of course having a 4.5 year old in the house who does not sleep during nap time like the others wanted to know what I was doing. It went something like this:

rose: "What ya doing"

myself: "I am doing my work"

rose: "that's your work."

myself: "Yes, I need to sort these out into piles."

rose: "Why."

myself: "Because its for taxes."

rose: "Oh for the taxi cars ?" Now only a 4 year old would get taxi cars out of taxes.

myself: "No taxes, we pay money to the government."

rose: "You give the monies to the Govment (she giggles). That looks like FUN! Can I have a treat?"

If only sometimes we could see thing like taxes being a fun thing to work on like a 4 year old sees things.

The highlight of my weekend!

So I would have to say the best part of my weekend was getting a new shelf! Nothing to fancy but something I definitely needed. Hubby hung up a shelf for me to go above my changing table. The shelf makes a great place for the diaper creams, baby lotion, lysol and also my battery operated radio (required for my daycare license). Just what everyone wants in their living room!

Mumma!

Sweet Baby Girl called me Mumma! She said it yesterday for the first time. That is close enough to momma if ya ask me.
This is a picture of her yesterday wearing her new sweater from Old Navy. Now when you have 3 girls in the house and love clothes you need to look for bargains. I only paid $2.99 for this sweater!
Just an FYI she said Mumma again today. I have a witness too if I need it!!

Sister

Yes, I am a sister! It was brought to my attention I did not post that in my first entry with my other Titles. I love being a sister. I have a wonderful sister and 2 brothers. I am the lucky one who gets to be the oldest.

My little sister is a hard hard worker. Most weeks she is working 6 days a week. Sometimes 7. Her house is always clean and tidy yet very welcoming. She is married to her high school sweetheart. When she was born I wanted to call her Rainbow! My sister is my best friend. She spends her days working at a bank and as a waitress/cook.

My brother T is like me in many ways always has something to say. And like his Big Sis He's got everything under control! T is younger than me and spends his days taking care of his own herd of cows and going to College. Brother T likes to be the boss.

Little M is the baby is the family. He's always been the one I spoiled and yes, still kind of do. He takes no time to rest and helps T farm and goes to College. Little M currently lives with a farmer and his family during the week while he is in College.

So yes, I am a sister.

5 minutes a day

For awhile now it has been bugging me that at meal time my husband will eat faster than the rest of us. I have always eaten alittle on the slow the side and now I have been feeding Sweet Baby Girl baby food. Her favorites seem to be pears, banana and sweet potatoes. Anyways, when my husband is done eating he gets up and leaves the table. He returns to whatever he was doing before supper started. Now lastnight I finally said to him "Do you realize we are at the supper table usually 5 more minutes than you are". He kind of looked at me funny. I explained to him that if he gave us just 5 more minutes a day at the supper table that is only 35 minutes a week. Don't sound like much time to give at all. Supper time is family time! We'll see how it goes.

First Entry

If you are reading this- Thank you. This is my first entry. I have been following some blogs and I enjoy reading about what other people have to say. Maybe someone will enjoy my writing. Maybe not. Most likely I will go on and on and not know when to stop. That's where you are in luck. You only have to read what you want to read! You can stop at any time.

A few things about me and my family. I am a mom, step-mom, wife, daughter and sometimes I feel like super women with all the things I need to accomplish in a day. My husband and I have been married one year (April 14, 2007) and we have a baby girl who just turned 8 months today! She is growing so fast. Its fun to watch her learn new things. When I met my husband he already had children. Long story of how I found that out. We'll save that for a rainy day post! He already had 2 girls and one boy. The two girls live with us full time. Its great having them here and I think of them as my own little girls. My husband also has a son. Sadly we do not see him as often as we would like.

Hopefully those who have read this will return at a later time to read more entries that I have yet to write! You to can find out what Life is like in the Wynn House!
