"Mock" Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Try Mashed Cauliflower rather than Mashed Potatoes... get the recipe here!

Ok don't let the name fool you. By no means are these Mashed Potatoes. It wasn't bad though. If I make it again I will skip the parm. Cheese. I don't think its needed.

Abby loved it.

Jade tried it and gave me a funny look.

Hubby, well whatever. He doesn't try everything I make.

~Sorry no pics~

Hey today is Thursday. Still can't post pictures. So I will tell you a few things. What else can I do?

I biked lastnight! Super proud of myself. I went 6 miles. Well, ok I did not actually go because if I went I would have ran into the tv! So I stayed in one spot and peddled! Yes, peddled 6 miles.

I am keeping track of my calories now instead of count WW points. Here's why. When I get up I want to here oh you can eat 1500. Not you can eat 12 or 36 or whatever my points where. Don't remember because the point system did not work well for me. So for 5 full days now I have tracked my food and exercise. I have been tracking it at myfitnesspal.com. It is a great site. There are tons of other people just like you and I. Great place to get advice and share things too.

Maybe just maybe by June 1st when I yes, get ready for it.... turn the big 30 and head out on a family vaction with my husband and 4 children... maybe I will have a bathing suit to take along and feel at least ok about wearing it.... I have not had a suit in well at least the last 7 years.... that means no swimming for me in 7 years.... after we travel our 1400 miles with 4 screaming kids and the heat index is 100 degrees maybe I won't care if I am 30 years old and how I look in a bathing suit. Who knows.

So today my worries of all things are how am I going to find time to bike?!?! I have to attend CPR tonight from 6:30pm-9:30pm. Seriously, do we need to look at  manicans for 3 hours? The trainer is the same Red Cross trainer who trained me the last 5 times. Wonder at what point she will say "Oh I remember you".

Well enough about all that. I am going to go eat Pizza... spendy pizza. I searched the pizza cooler lastnight at Cub Foods trying to get a pizza I would like but also one that was lower in calories than some. It cost so much more to eat healthy and that just frustrates me.

So off I go. Hope this gets you buy until blogger gets their act together and realizes that Life in the Wynn House is not the same without pictures!

Oh and one last thing.... Celery does not taste like Chocolate even if you imagine it does while eating it. Not even with light ranch dressing!

They had a cookie in the middle too!
(so not good if you are on a diet)
She got lots of phone calls on her special day.

Tomorrow she is having some family over for supper and cake!

~Kitchen update~

Last winter we did this!
Having the mircowave above the stove is wonderful!
It saved alot of counter space.

Now in the last few weeks we have done some more work!
Took out the old cabinets!

We ended up with this not so pretty space.

So we added these cabinets!

Maddi helped me move the frig!

We had to put up some textured stuff because at some
point someone textured all the walls in the house.
(the textured stuff doesn't look to bad as long as
you use the right paint colors)

Danny had to cut a small hole in the dinning room wall.
This wall is shared with the kitchen.

Then he moved the kitchen light into the dining room.
He had to do some repainting of the wall then.
We had to move our frig over closer to the door way which
blocked the light switch. That's why it had to be moved.

The when I was gone with Jade (for girl scouts)
Danny allowed Mason to take a 3.5 hour nap.
During Mason's nap Danny painted the walls yellow.
Then Monday night he stained the cabinets.
Wow, does that stain ever give me a headache!

Next on the list is to do the bottom cabinets and pick a counter top!
They will go from the stove to the frig.
I can't wait until we can do them because
I really need to get my things out of totes and organized.

I am also now dreaming of a taller frig.
When we moved into our home we had to buy our appliances.
The frig had to be rather short because of the cabinets that were up.
We were able to save some of the old cabinets for our laundry room!

I GO BANANAS

I think this is Jade's current dance song they are working on.

Seriously, what the heck is she wearing?
You don't even want to know we paid $80 for this thing!
Oh and another $30 for Jazz shoes but they are at least normal!
And the bananas, do they have to be there?
I won't tell Jade but I wouldn't be caught dead in this get up.
She was laughing the whole time she had it on.
I think she felt as funny as she looked.

I don't think that is how the head ribbon is supposed to be but we didn't have time to do anything fancy.
She claims they are wearing two small buns in their hair up top. Somehow the ribbon/ headband thingy is going around them. I dunno. I am kind of scared.

~Birthday Girl~

It seems like just yesterday I was meeting Abby for the first time.
She was a small little girl of nine months old.
She had a head full of curls.

Today she is 7 years old!
Here she is with Bunny!
Bunny got new outfits because I guess its
Bunny's birthday too!

She loves doing projects!

She loves helping her little brother walk.

Happy Birthday Abbygail Rose Wynn!
Love you more than you could ever know.
I am so proud to be your momma!

~A little Trip~

Last weekend the kids and I took a little trip.
We went to my sister's house.
We stayed over one night.
Its always a chore getting both Maddison and Mason to sleep at night.
I'm always afraid they will wake someone up.
They did well. To bed at 10pm and awake at 4:30am!
Then back to sleep for a nap later on after some cartoons.
Mason decided to take off and start walking
while at my sister's house.
He has taken steps before but this night he
was really on the go!
He even tried running and dancing as well.
Everyone got alittle wound up.

He even went to grandma!
I know this made her day.
He is usually such a momma's boy.
(that's Abby in the cupcake pj's)!

Mason and Faith playing.

Maddison sitting in Faith's chair.

My sister and her daughter, Faith.
(I think this is a great picture).

Playing in Faith's chair.

Uncle Josh even played Candy Land with the girls!
He had never played this before.

It was so much fun to see Mason on his feet.
It was much easier for him to walk with my sister's carpet.
We have hardwood floors and its harder for the little ones to stay
up on their feet when they are learning.
Since being home though he has really taken off.
He is pretty much doing all walking and no more crawling.

~Random Christmas Photos~

Trying to entertain. Pushing the kids in a box.

Jade helped with dishes!

Mason!

The baby in the family, Jana (my cousin's 1st baby girl).
Jade was so happy she got to hold her.

Abby got new clothes for her Bunny!
She loves stuffed animals so much its crazy.

Playing games with Papa.

I had to share this photo.
I got these blocks off of Etsy.
I think they turned out so cute.
They will sit on Mason's dresser.
The best thing is if I ever talk my husband into another baby
we can just move the Little Brother block
(the talk is so not going in my favor)!

~Dirt Cake~

My parents gave Danny and I this bench for Christmas.
Its perfect!
The seat lifts up and we are able to put all out mittens and hats inside.
Uncle Matt, Mason and my neice Faith were having a great time
trying it out on Christmas Eve night.

I think Uncle Matt was avoiding the camera.

DIRT CAKE
Yeah it looks good doesn't it?!?!

Get the recipe here.
I made this with fat free/ sugar free pudding,
low fat cool whip, and weight watchers cream cheese!
It was still very yummy.
I took this to our Christmas day family get together.

~A Princess Maddi~

Even pricesses need their bueaty sleep!

She has been living in this princess dress (used to be Abby's).
She has for sure gotten more use out of it than Abby did.
I think she wore it 4 days in a row, all day long!

~Taco Soup~

Ingredients:

2 lbs ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 14.5 oz can whole kernel corn
2 16 oz cans of ranch style beans (I only used one can because I'm not a bean lover & it was fine)
3 cans of diced tomatos (maybe substitute 1 can rotel if you like spicy)
1 pkg taco seasoning
1 pkg Hidden Valley dressing mix
Brown and drain meat. Saute onions for a few minutes. Combine all ingredients in a large pot. Add chili powder, salt and pepper to taste. Simmer 1-2 hours. I topped it with shredded cheese!
(I topped it with some light sour cream as well)

I had never heard of Ranch Style beans before this recipe. I did find them though at my local Cub Foods. They were located on the top shelf near the other beans. When I made this I did not use any chili powder as I did not want it to get too spicy for the kids. I will for sure make this again. I loved it! If you like Chili you would probably like Taco Soup! I served my Taco Soup with Garlic Cheese Biscuits.

I think that this made alot of soup. I fed myself a very good bowl and also 6 daycare kids (each 1 cup). So if you only wanted enough soup for a couple people you may want to cut the recipe in half. The kids all ate it (well except for my picky Maddison). We had lots of leftovers and it was still good leftover.

Garlic Cheese Biscuits
2 1/4 cups bisquick (I used healthy smart bisquick)
2/3 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (I used low fat cheese)
1 tsp garlic salt
Combine ingredients and make drop biscuits by just dropping spoonfuls on a sprayed pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Such a great side!

~Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from the Wynn's!

I can not belive 2011 is already here. Seems like just yesterday we rang in the year 2000.
Time is going by too quickly, maybe its my old age!

I don't think I got all our Christmas pictures posted. So I will try to post a few this week.
I also have 2 recipes I want to share with my readers.

We had a great holiday season and I hope all of you did as well.
May the next year bring lots of happy memories for all of you.
