~Blankets and things~

I love making fleece blankets.
When my friends from high school have a baby I make them a blanket.
I have also made many for own children.
Jade and Abby were the first two little ones to get blankets from me.
We still have them! They got them the first Christmas I knew them.

This year Mason is getting a HUGE one with red fleece.
There are cars on the red fleece.
The back is just plain blue.

Do you see this cute child on top of the blanket I am trying to make?
She is cute but she was in my way.
So when you ladies talk about having sewing rooms or need one I totally get it.
I might not sew but I tie knots! So I need a knot tieing room.

I am almost finished with this one.
Then I will be making Jade a new one as well.
She has requested a new one for Christmas.
I also have a high school friend expecting her first baby (a boy) around Christmas.
I found some cute fleece for her blanket and can't wait to make it.
I use one yard of fleece for baby blankets and 2 yards for bigger blankets.
It takes me one hour to make a small blanket and 2 hours to make a big blanket!
If I don't get too interupted.

I also decorated this for Mason to go in his room.
I think he will get this for Christmas.
The red pail came from Target $ bins for just $2.50!
Then I spent 99cents on the lettering (still have more letters).
I had a hard time finding the right stickers.
These finally came from Wal-Mart. I think they were around $2.00.
So for around $5.49 Mason will have a cute personalized pail!
This will be great for little toy cars.

Mason loves playing peek-a-boo.

He also loves sitting on his little couch!

~Weight Watchers Talk~

In a previous post I talked about Weight Watchers. Some of my readers had some questions. I hope to get those answered. You don't have to read unless you want too!

Am I going to the meetings?

No, I am not able to attend the current meetings because they happen to be the same nights as Jade has dance. In the future I might think about it more. I think going and being part of a "group" might give me alittle more motivation. That is something I need alot more of.

Am I doing the whole point system?

I happen to find a link on-line that I use to check points. You can find that link here! I checked the link with my sister who does have the books at home and she has also followed WW in the past. She said it was right with the books.

Have I changed things about how I eat?

Yes, for sure. I have cut way back on sauces such as dressing and mayo. I also cut back on my all time favorite cheese and sour cream. I would add cheese to almost anything and everything. I have stopped doing that. I am still here! I have survived that change. I have also started buying low fat yorgurt. It taste just as good. At supper I eat the same meal as my family and take much smaller portions as I used to.

How long have I been doing this?

I am only going on about week 3 or 4. However the fist few weeks were alot of learning for me. I also didn't stop drinking my mountain dew until week 2. Only diet pop now which is ok because I am a diet coke aholic (thanks to my mother)!

What have I learned so far?

Coleslaw is not a good thing to eat with a cheeseburger. Not a huge fan of coleslaw and its got alot of sauce on it. Not worth all the point! I have also learned that I do best with meals already portioned for me. So I have been having a Smart Ones meal for lunch after the kids eat and are napping. They have the points right on them. I also learned that Green Giant makes a great cheesey brocollli that is ZERO points! I can put this with any meal and its works as a bit of a filler. Also Green Giant makes a corn that is only ONE point! During the last few weeks I found out that I like fiber one bars but they are not for Maddison (they make her poop all day long)! Chocolate oatmeal and Carmel are awesome and they are just 2 points a bar!

Have I cheated and made some bad choices?

Yes, I have. I have had my favorite nachos!

Ok, now what you really want to know- How much weight have I lost?

I really haven't lost any! But I am ok with that. I am still really learning what things are better for me to eat and how many points are in things. The best thing though is by changing the few things I have changed I feel better about myself! I feel alittle bit healthier! I have a long ways to go though.

What is my number one goal?

This might sound goofy to some but my number one goal is to be able to walk into a store like Maurices and buy something that fits and I feel good in. I don't need to be a size 2 or even a size 8. I just want to be healthier and have more energy to play with my little ones!

~Spelling~

Abby is in first grade this year. She seems to really enjoy school.
She has already started spelling!
This is her with her first spelling test.
One of her words was understand.
Kind of tough if you ask me. Well, for first grade anyways.
We practise each night.

~Yummies~

Abby loves taking cold lunch to school.
Yesterday I tried to make it alittle more fun for her.

She got cheese and lunch meat shaped as leaves and pumpkins!
I used my mini cookie cutters to do this.

She also got crackers and grapes inside fun Tinkerbell sandwich bags.

Early this week I made mini cookies for snack. I used my mini fall cookie cutters.
I think its funny how much I used them this week.
They've been with me 5 years and this is the first time they came out of the box!

Maddi helped make the cookies and also eat them.

Mini sandwiched for lunch!
This was our Fall lunch we had after a nature walk.
Corn because the squirles like corn.
Mini pumpkin and leaf sandwiches and pretzels are our sticks we saw outside!
The kids loved this lunch!
(If I would have been thinking ahead we would of had apples instead of bananas but we had just had apples for breakfast that morning.

This week we had meatloaf! It was very tasty!
It was supposed to be for supper Sunday night but Danny found out and said he would take us out. He's not a fan of meatloaf. Well too bad he got it for supper Monday night!
For some reason I thought it tasted extra good this time. I had to try really hard not to eat too much since I am trying the weight watchers diet.

~Bits and Pieces~

So did you miss me? I haven't had a blog post since Thursday. But really you have not missed much. I have been alittle crabby. We all have our moments right?

I'm going to tell you this right from the begining that this will be bits and pieces of stuff. Some good and some bad. Read it or don't! Like it or hate it!

I have to be honest with all of you I am pissed off. I am trying really hard to be "cool" if that is the right word but I just can't always be. My family is hurting. my mother, my aunts and uncles, my grandmother, my cousins. They are all hurting and I can not fix it. Most importantly my grandpa is hurting also. He's hurting differently than we are.

God has a plan for us all, right? We never know what that plan is until it gets here. Right now I guess I am not too happy with his plan. I want to be mad. I want to scream. I want to yell at someone. Then I remember that if it wasn't for God I wouldn't even be here.

My grandpa is fighting cancer. Its not good. He had lots of cemo last winter and he beat that part of his cancer. Now though its getting harder because its spreading. Its in his brain and now in his colon.

I do not like what this is doing to my family. They are all hurting. I read messages my cousins leave on their facebook page and I want to help them understand. How can I do that when I myself don't always understand why things happen the way they do.

How do you stay strong at a time like this?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On another note I started trying out the weight watchers diet. Hard to do when there's alot of stress right now but I am trying. I have changed a few things about how I eat. I am really hoping this can work for me. A friend/ daycare provider is also doing it and that kind of got me started. We went to eat the other night at Applebees and tried one of their weight watchers meals. It was actually really good.

So until next time what ever it is that you are dealing with in your life I hope God can give you the strength you need to get through it.

Fall Blessings to all my readers!
