~I'm dreaming of a new kitchen~

I'm dreaming of a new kitchen,
just like the one I used to know.
Where the counter tops glissen and children
listen to cooking in the house.

Ok, I was up way too early today so that's
about as good as I can come up with!

Current kitchen picture.
Yes, I know I need to clean the frig.
I just have too many things to hang up there.

What my kitchen should look like!

Danny went to Menards and came back with this!
So I sent him back to do the other side of the kitchen!

Current picture of the kitchen.

What it could look like.
We would tweak this some more though
because I do not like the gap between the window
and the cupboard.
We would also have a small 6 inch area we would
possible need to order a custom cupboard to fit
(One of those cupboard for cookie sheets)!
We also tossed the idea of adding 3 small cupboard ontop of these to go to the ceiling.
Just trying to invision if it would look good is hard to do.
The new look would give me more counter space.
I would loose my pantry but its not a good one anyways.
So I can live with that.

I just had to share these pictures. We've been talking for 2 years about a new kitchen but of course to do it right it takes money! Lots of it. They actually even priced out the cupboards we need so now we know how much it would cost. I love that I can see it in a picture instead of trying to imagine it in my head. My dream kitchen would have an island. We would have to add on to do that and my husband did not think that was a good idea. He's probably right. I will live without an island.

I'm praying I get my kitchen this Spring but I will be happy whenever it might be.

Whenever we redo ours, I will have cabinets all the way to the ceieling, like it looks like you ahve now. Currently only my newer added pantry cabinet does that...the others all have that wasted, dust collecting space above ti and I hate it...dislike it greatly..whichever term is worse! It gathers dust that makes me sneeze and is a disaster to clean. The ONLY thing I like about that space is I have an Ivy growing up there that came in a flower arrangement from when my Mom died...and I almost killed the plant..no green thumb here..but I got it to grow and now its all winding its way around the little wood piece that goes over my sink/window part.

Your future kitchen looks great. Much better layout for user friendliness then your current one! The only thing I would suggest is getting a couple free bids from custom cabinent companies before you go forward with your project. When we redid our kitchen a few years ago we went to homedepot and got a layout and estimate drawn up and then did the same with a custom guy who came to our house with his computer and did the same thing but even added a few improvements and it turned out to be cheaper in the end going with the custom guy. And, being that they are custom built they are much better quality than what we would have got from homedepot. Custom guys are probably searching for work with the way the economy is right now so they would probably not hesitate at matching or beating your menards price! Good luck with the project!
