We had a trip planned to go to the Zoo with my parents and my sister, her husband and little girl at the end of this month. Then my dad called to switch the day. So we switched it. Then last Friday night around 8:00pm my brother-in-law called and said "Let's not wait to go to the zoo. Let's go on Monday". We all agreed since we had the day off to take the kiddos to the ZOO!
That morning I knew the kids were tired from being up late the night before so I woke then at the last minute. Well Maddison had some issues going to the bathroom and I could tell she was hurting. So I felt we needed to take her to the doctor. Thankfully we got a 9:20am appointment. However to get to the Zoo on time we needed to leave our place at 9am. Ok, not a problem. We are flexible. We're going to be late.
At the clinic Maddison was to potty in a cup! Are you laughing? I am. Seriously she is 2 years old. We just started this potty training thing not long ago and you want her to pee in a cup already. Yeah right. She wouldn't even sit on the toilet. So she pottied all over the floor! Her socks were soaked. Thank goodness her shoes weren't on. So in the end she was fine. Just a bad owie on her bottom that requires a bath 2 times a day for about a week using baking soda and then vaseline for the owie.
So we left the clinic! We were headed finally to the Zoo! When we were almost there traffic came to an almost stop. We could see smoke. Then we saw a fire truck. We figured there had been an accident. So we called the rest of our party who was waiting for us. We told them to go ahead and have their picnic and we would picnic in the van.
Once we got further ahead we saw that a car had started on fire.
So finally we made it to the Zoo. Took awhile to find a parking spot but once we found that we easily found Grandma, Grandpa, Josh, Molly, and Faith. As we were walking into the Zoo we felt sprinkles.
It rained most of our Zoo trip and because of that we were not able to go on any rides. We made the best of it though for the kids. We spend time waiting out the heavy rain in the HOT buildings. The kiddos still seemed to have a good time.
*I will try and post pictures later. I am having some troubles with my side of the computer. Last weekend I got a virus and Danny was able to get it all taken care of after many hours of messing around with the computer and anti-virus stuff. However this morning when typing my post I had to shut down the computer because it gave me warning of another virus. I can not do anything now on my side.... just like the other day. So I can not get to my pictures.
